What made you pick up mandolin?
Truthfully....I wanted to learn the violin. I've studied guitar since I was 11 and I always had wanted to learn violin. I figured Mandolin was a perfect in-between instrument that would allow me to get the fingering down for violin a little better. I ended up kind of using the mandolin way more than I ever though I would. I play violin now a little and used it a little bit on our last record. For the most part though I let Lisa take all the violinin', and I have joined forces with the mandolin. As a band, we find it adds a nice touch to our sound. Thanks for the question Lauren. Thanks for listening to our music. Blessings.

You are just awesome, I love your music and your style, I hope you come to South-America soon. Why did you choose "The Lighthouse and the Whaler" as the band's name and what does it mean for you?The Lighthouse and the Whaler responded on 07/31/2013 Next question
